Barbra Fredrickson’s Broaden and Build Theory (Fredrickson 2001) examined and explained the benefits of experiencing positive emotions. Her study showed that when we are in a positive headspace our viewpoint is broadened, we can pay more attention to details and have a wider view of situations which increases problem-solving. When we move into a negative headspace our view of a situation narrows and we have decreased problem-solving skills. This means, when we find ourselves experiencing negative emotions, which ironically are the times that we could use some extra resources, we are left with fewer.

This journal is designed to help train the brain to view life more positively. It is also designed to help see the correlation between our behaviours and how we feel. Enjoy and I hope this is helpful
